Blog, huh? I thought the invite was spam that had somehow made it into our network until I saw "DeepCore1" in the post. :)

I'm lending Mallet (the Dell Poweredge we were going to use for infomasher) to a coworker of mine for the weekend. He's going to be doing the following:

1) Install Debian Linux instead of FreeBSD (this enables UniVerse in addition to stuff like Medal of Honor servers, in addition then chopblock and mallet are using the same base OS)
2) Install CVS (Concurrent Version Control) software
3) Install UniVerse Personal Edition (free version of the database we use at work)

We'll still be able to use the box for any InfoMasher/Digital Fray things as well. He needed a server to host software development for a work-related Java program he's developing.

The advantage is we'll have CVS installed so we can host large software development projects along with a powerful database that I know very well.

We can integrate UV with pretty much anything we need, as well.

Holla!

Hello right back at you!

This is wonderful news...

The disposition of Chop Block is the following: No active OS, hard drive completely wiped. Need capability to host 1/2 game servers, and website functionality, namely www.digitalfray.com, which currently resides on Pakrat's box.

As we build out the Infomasher program, I should try and convey my strategy for how things will look...

See next Blog post!

OMG this rules :)
