"The opening of Digital Fray will change the landscape of competitive online gaming as we know it." --{1 Transmission}--{Digital Fray}--{Latest Buzz} I'm very excited to make it official - the business I have been working on developing for the last 2 years, has now come to realization. My team and I are launching the first phase of the business, www.digitalfray.com. In this first stage, Digital Fray will be the place for competitive tournaments, paying out cash to the its victors, and providing an opportunity for these gamers to establish themselves as the elite gamers in their respective game community. Putting the officialities aside, I wanted to detail out a few things that have taken place so far. This weekend, much thanks to Pakrat, my partner in crime, has tweaked our first Digital Fray server, squeezing out every ounce of speed and efficiency. He installed and tweaked all of the necessary apps that will go into running our website, email systems, gaming servers, and administrative duties. The 64bit 3200+ Alienware is now humming even faster than it's initial setup. We also will be upgrading to the super high speed business class connection provided by RoadRunner. The line will have guranteed up time, and increased upstream times. As we venture into the first part of this business, we will be relying on our ability to capture a unique niche, which we believe has not yet been fulfilled. Automating the process for which we deem winners and losers in a tournament, ensuring security in payments, barring cheats and hacks from our game tournaments, and providing quick turn around on players statistics and winnings, are all part of our core goals. We plan to accomplish these goals in steps. Each step will provide the chance for us to build on a foundation. Like enhancements to our website, statistics tracking, ability to organize and archive game recordings etc. Here are the order of goals and tasks in their priority: 1. Establish a base market for our business. a. We will create a place to capture the market demands of the CoD community for cash tournaments. 2. Track survey data that captures these demands. 3. Digital Fray will hold a series of manually held tournaments, collect tournament fees, schedule tournaments and player match-ups, and finally, hold the tournament and paying out winnings. 4. Upgrade our website to accomodate increased traffic and members. 5. Build out statistics modifications. 6. Automate parts of the payment processing on our website. (paypal etc) 7. Automate the process for determining winners for each match played. 8. Combine a seamless flow for a player to join Digital Fray, setup payment processing, join tournaments, receive information on tournaments and players, cash in on prizes. As time goes on, we will incorporate other features and an online store for related products and services. If you have any feedback about this post, please feel free to comment. Happy Gaming! -Knabber
